Palcomix Writer of the Month - Alfredo

Introduction

Alfredo is a prolific script writer with a penchant for writing rather long exploitive comics with lots of naughtiness! Sometimes the heroes even win! However, he has also done short and funny stories as well. Whatever it is, Alfredo always has a few scripts on the go and a few ecchi tricks up his sleeve!

Let's get to know him, shall we?

Hi Alfredo! Thanks for agreeing to be my first victim - er interviewee!

Oh, of course girl!

When did you first work with PALComix? How did you come to know about PAL?

My first work with Pal was in 2013. Pal was quite famous at the time, mostly because of their Teen Titans and Sonic comics.

What was your first comic? Can you tell us about it?

It was "Bitter Night". At the time there weren't any hentai comics about Candy Candy, so after one commission, I decided to write that comic.

Do you think you would write it differently now than then?

Actually, as with a lot of my comics, one of the problems with the Candy comics is that I keep adding more and more things instead of keeping them on point. "Bitter Night" was good as a proof of concept, but story wise was weak. Still I really like it to this day.

What about a series inspires you to write a parody of it?

Oh well it's mostly about what I find interesting about a show or series. When it comes to a short story I try to stay in focus with the characters' personalities and deliver something funny (SVTFOE, Legend Quest, Loud House), but when I want a complex story I try to use characters that I'm familiar with. The hardcore stories are mostly about overcoming the odds so I prefer characters that I grew up with.

What are your favourite themes in your comic?

Mostly sexploitation movies from the 70's and 80's. Films like "Ilsa the she wolf of the SS", "Amazon jail" and "Caged heat" I still use a lot of references from those movies. In fact the whole concept of the last Candy comic series ( Spoils of War I , II , III , IV ) was based on the "Ilsa" series.

What was your favourite comic you've written so far? Why?

My favorite story is "Summer's End", it's not a hardcore story but I really love how the team integrated the elements of all the characters and setting from that particular episode of Candy Candy. Other comics that I like are "Lady and the Cub", "Shego's pet", "Enslaved guardians" and "Friends will be friends"

Do you have another writer / comic on PAL (not by you) that you really enjoyed reading? Who/What was it?

Baxtus with his "Oh my Goddess" comics and the Kumi comics of course!

Aww...thanks! *^^* Have you ever had writer's block? How do you get over it?

All the time, but the way I work with the scripts is having a huge backlog of ideas and work on the ones I'm more interested at the moment. Most of my scripts are stored for months before sending them to pal.

How has it been working with Bbmbbf and the PAL team?

Great, they've done a great job with the scripts I've sent them and the communication is really good when it comes to fixing some small details. I really appreciate the effort that they put into each comic.

Have you ever cowritten scripts with others? How did that go?

Yup, a couple of comics, the most famous was "Friends will be friends". That was a comic made between 4 writers (This was back in the days of the WWOEC forum - two of the writers came from there) and sometimes I'll get a special writer to help me with a couple of pages in each comic.

Ironically, that was also the comic that let you and I meet eachother. What advice would you give to new people who want to write scripts for PAL?

Work on your idea until you're happy with it and provide enough references to the team. Real life references have been so helpful in my comics and they're better for setting poses and specifying background elements.

Any exciting projects in the near future?

Another W.I.T.C.H. comic is coming soon and next year I hope to complete the Jungle Hell and Riverdale trilogies.

Do you have a 'waifu' (favourite anime/cartoon female)? If so, who is she?

Yeah, it's Patty from Candy Candy! The second waifu award would go to Irma Lair from W.I.T.C.H.

Wow...my Fave WITCH is Irma too! Any last words for your PAL fans?

Keep supporting the team and thanks for being an awesome community.

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us today!

You're welcome girl
